All Abilities Welcome

At Malu Banna Watersports we specialise in offering a welcome and assistance for all participants, whatever their requirements to achieve a fun and rewarding experience.

Where there is a will there is a way

At Malu Banna Watersports, we believe that every individual, regardless of ability, deserves the chance to enjoy the thrill, fun, and camaraderie of water-based activities.

Our philosophy is simple: people are defined by their unique abilities that shine in many different directions.

Whether it’s a family outing, a group of friends, or a large corporate gathering, we specialise in creating safe, inclusive, and memorable experiences that bring people together on the water.

Our instructors, captains, and staff undergo disability awareness training to ensure that every participant is treated with respect and care.

Training exercises include scenarios where team members experience temporary limitations, for example,

  • one person may be blindfolded
  • another may wear headphones to cancel outside noise
  • ,another may be unable to speak, or another may simulate mobility challenges.

These exercises build empathy, sharpen communication, and reinforce our commitment to treating all guests as individuals, without discrimination.

This training ensures that our staff can anticipate needs, adapt activities, and provide support with dignity and professionalism.

Safety is at the heart of everything we do. All participants must wear personal flotation devices whenever they are on or near the water, and our equipment is maintained to international standards.

From the moment guests arrive, they are welcomed with warmth and guided through clear safety briefings, ensuring confidence and peace of mind.

We also welcome groups where participants are paired with carers, and our multilingual team can communicate in English, Sinhala, French, some basic Arabic, and Hindi to make everyone feel at home.

Our activities are carefully designed to balance excitement with accessibility.

Guests can enjoy the Banana Boat Ride, perfect for groups who want laughter and teamwork; the six-person Speeding Sofa Ride, offering shared thrills; or the Jumping Jetski Adventure, where skill and speed meet safety.

For those who prefer a gentler pace, our two-person kayaks and jungle river safaris provide opportunities to explore nature.

On the safaris, up to eight guests listen to the sounds of the jungle as the boat chuckles softly through winding waterways, where overhanging trees form natural caverns and wildlife can be observed in its habitat.

These experiences remind participants that adventure can be both exhilarating and serene.

Many arrive thinking of themselves as limited by disabilities, but through our activities, they discovered that they each had unique strengths. Some excelled in coordination, others in leadership, and others in creativity.

One of our proudest achievements was hosting a group of 200 participants of all abilities.

Together, they realised that abilities are not uniform, it is a positive diverse approach, that shines differently in each person.

These events became powerful reminder that Malu Banna is not just about watersports, but about building confidence, teamwork, and experiencing high speed boats blended with natura joy.

We welcome discussions with organisers, carers, and participants to tailor programmes to each group’s needs.

Every session is designed with flexibility, ensuring that no one is left out and everyone feels valued.

At Malu Banna Watersports, our mission is to combine fun, safety, and inclusivity so that every guest leaves with unforgettable memories and the knowledge that they are celebrated for who they are.
